Obama/Pfleger '08

Just kidding - My sense is that he wants to pick Webb because of the way he described a book Webb wrote a few years ago.

Webb beat that 'macacca ' clown from VA a few years ago - He wrapped Bush around that clown and took out his baseball bat and pounded away

So you are discounting an Obama/Clinton ticket?

He will probably not pick HRC unless he really has to. He'll do what he has to do - just like Jack picking Lyndon.

But I think he wants to pick Mr. Webb.

George Allen was the clown I was thinking of.

Webb is the way to go...or Sibelius. I would go with Sibelius because of Hillary's desire for the VP slot. This puts O in a bind...if he doesn't pick the bitch, her fans will be doubly pissed and really might stay home. Picking another woman would mollify a lot of the feminists who wanted Hillary for that reason.

I think he'd rather offer Bill the VP slot... ;-)

Only if he wants to be relegated to White House lawn jockey status, or assure something really bad happening to him (both of which are highly likely if he puts Hillary on the ticket, too).

And any points he's won with novelty among independents will be quickly depleted while simultuneously accomplishing what McCain himself is having trouble doing: Rallying the conservative base.

Furthermore, having an AA on top of the ticket may be a welcome "change" (if only superficially), but adding another "First"--i.e. a woman, with all due respect to Ferraro--might be pushing the envelope too far for Joe 6-Pack to stomach(especially since one is liberal, the other Hillary, notwithstanding the latter's recent attempts to schmooze that very Joe 6-Pack constituency with her bar-hopping for the PA primary).

Probably couldn't hurt McCain, though.... but I'll be damned before I ever played the DNC's AA game of placing the "appearance" of progress over the requirements for leadership of this great nation.
