DOW HITS 11,000 FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE JUNE 2001

NEW YORK (Foxnews) — The Dow Jones Industrial average closed above 11,000 for the first time in 4 1/2 years as the market continued to rally on Monday.
The last time the Dow ended the trading day above 11,000 was June 7, 2001.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 52.59 points, or 0.48 percent, at 11,011.90.
The Standard and Poor's 500 Index closed up 4.70 points, or 0.37 percent, at 1,290.15.
The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index ended up 13.07 points, or 0.57 percent, at 2,318.69.
Crossing the 11,000 mark still puts the Dow about 6 percent below its all-time high of 11,750.28 set on January 14, 2000.
