A Northeastern Ivy League Campus

I, Republicus, am in scenic upstate New York right now and was walking across the beautiful, ivy league university campus of my hometown (while on my way to the very library that I am now sitting in) when I saw rag-tag group of students milling about and handing out fliers that boldly said something like "SOCIALIST PARTY OF AMERICA."

I don't recall exactly how the heading was phrased, but it was most certainly promotional material for socialism, as was confirmed by the aesthetically-challenged fashion-sense and indicative grooming habits and coiffures of the young subversives, so I averted my glance and just fixed my gaze ahead of me and kept walking...but not fast enough: I heard someone quickly address and ask my backside something about Bush, blacks, and New Orleans.

I stopped, turned, and asked: "What?"

"Did-you-hear-about-Bush-blacks-Louisiana-something-something," he quickly muttered, holding out the Socialist flier.

"What are you talking about?" I frowned.

"You haven't heard?" he asked, astonished, "Where have you been?"

"No, I couldn't understand you. I didn't hear you," I informed him.

"Well, what do you think about Bush abandoning blacks in Louisiana?"

Have you read my last few posts? If so, then you can imagine my response.

And that question from a student at a world-class university.
