In A Nutshell

(1) The causus causata of the snowballed meltdown has been identified: The subprime lending corruption at Fannie & Freddie.

(2) A look at the timeline makes clear that the practice of sub-prime lending began in the Clinton era and was called to the carpet in 2004 when it started getting out of hand and raised red flags to number crunchers. The Republican-backed snooping was beaten back by Democrats like Barney Frank, Reid, and others.

(3) The "community organizing" that Barack has on the top of his resume' for "experience" refers to his activities with ACORN--which worked hand-in-hand with Franklin Raines at Fannie.

(4) Raines is now "economic advisor" to Obama.

My suspicion is that the Republicans and the Democrats neither one wished for a really close investigation.

I suspect that there are reasons for the passage, but I must applaud the Texas Delegation for fighting at least the first stages. I have not looked at everyone yet, but I enjoyed their resistance to insanity.

The reason that neither Party wanted to bring that topic up was that it is going to cause some major pain to Washington in the next few months no matter what happens.

I, at least,sincerely hope so.

We need to cleanse Congress and the Senate of the "permanent rulers" who can implement incremental, yet long term systemic changes, over the period of several legislative sessions. Since term limits are not "Constitutional", then perhaps we need to actively politically target individuals who serve an unseemly number of Congressional terms (just like the Democrats do).

Alinsky Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.

Regardless, McCain needs to come out strongly for a return to traditional capitalism. Striding towards economic socialism is NOT the direction the vast majority of Americans want to move towards.

Obama is offering us MORE socialist economics. That's the "Change" he's offering. And unless McCain is willing to STOP crossing the aisle and embracing these bi-partisan "compassionate conservative" causes, then all hope for an independent and prosperous future is lost for social AND economic conservatives.

lol

That's strange. I thought I was just editing the "do the math" ending out of the first one and not duplicating the post in the process.
