In the last post (and in others, especially "Leftthink 101), the tendency for Leftists--and Bill Clinton especially--to resort to using the psychological defense mechanism of projection when cornered-- or even when just making a statement or giving a speech--was discussed and exemplified.

It was made evident that the mechanism was churning and very productive throughout the Impeachment saga.

Projection is, again: "Attributing one's unacceptable motives or characteristics to others."

For Bill Clinton, It is an enduring characteristic that was on display as recently as last Sunday, when he met privately with California’s superdelegates at the state convention.

Although his publicized message to the convention was a genial plea for everyone to “chill out” vis-à-vis the heated race between Hillary and Senator Obama, according to a report by Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross of The San Fransisco Chronicle that came out today, earlier that same day, away from the cameras, he had one of his red-faced, finger-pointing paroxysms, triggered by the mention of erstwhile Clintonite Bill Richardson (who was once the presumptive choice for Hillary’s vice-president, but then turned around and endorsed Senator Obama).

“It was very, very intense,” described one conference attendee, as reported.

After Clinton got in front of a microphone and posed as the party elder and statesman, suggesting that everyone should “chill out” and be mindful of party unity, one delegate was reported as saying: “It was kind of strange later when he took the stage and told everyone to 'chill out. We couldn't help but think he was also talking to himself."

Where has that delegate been?

He was, and did throughout the Impeachment saga.

I certainly hope that more super delegates see through it like that one did.

The only means we have of understanding the actions and motivations of others originates in a complete understanding of ourselves... (of course, it doesn't end there)

Inscription atop the Temple of Apollo at Delphi: gnothi seauton!

Sun Tzu: If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

Has anyone seen Narcissus, lately? I'll bet he's like the rest of the Democrats who concentrate upon the surface reflections... and never peer deeply enough into the abyss to see themselves staring back.

Of course, Narcissus probably would have lived a long life, had he never known himself...

He knew himself but not the enemy: Himself.

The painful part of all of this is that they are so damnably predictable. I have a good friend that is a Democrat, and I told him during the first GW Bush regime that Hillery would run for the Presidency. He told me that there was no way that would happen, but I KNEW it as sure as I know the sun rises in the East.

I also told him that Al Gore is going to position himself for a power grab. Now, watch what will happen in the Democratic National Convention. We have not seen the last of AlGore.

I can make one prediction that I think will hold true. If Hillary takes this thing at the Convention, it is going to rip the very guts out of the traditional Democratic Party. She will be the Lioness that either gets what she wants, or she will literally tear that party to pieces. SHe would have no trouble doing the same thing to us if she becomes the President.
