Republicus on Immigration

Read the prologue to Republicus.

And Google "Aztlan" and understand.

It's an invasion.

A BIG strike against President Bush. That's a good 5-10 percentage points right there on his approvals.

"In Chicano folklore, Aztlan is often appropriated as the name for that portion of Mexico that was taken over by the United States after the Mexican-American War of 1846, on the belief that this greater area represents the point of parting of the Aztec migrations."

Sorry, John, don't see how this correlates to the border-jumpers... Maybe you'd like to clarify?

Look at the map, Jess.

Aztlan activists want to carve out of most of the southwestern United States an independent, Spanish-speaking nation known as the Republica del Norte.

Los Angeles is perceived as the future capital of Aztlan or Republica de Norte.

Have you seen the marches?

How many American flags do you see?

How many Mexican ones?

Good point. Looks like they're trying to reclaim this area.

Scary, scary, scary.
